A visit to Weston Red Barn Farm is like visiting a farm in the early 1900's; children experience a working farmstead. Cleverly blending entertainment with education for preschool through elementary school-aged kids, our tours allow kids to play and explore while we provide instruction.
All our guided tours begin with the basic barnyard tour and require a group minimum of 15 guests. Along the way, the kids will explore a variety of fun learning stations.
Before or after the tour, your group can enjoy a sack lunch on our scenic hillside. Clean public restrooms with hand washing stations are available.
Spring and Summer Tours
Our spring and summer tours run mid-April through Labor Day. They are scheduled from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm and last 90 minutes. Weston Red Barn Farm features traditional farm animals and crops.
Springtime is an exciting time on the farm. Our guides will share lots of exciting news and stories about the many new babies and animal families in our barnyard. Your group will learn about the spring and summer farm activities that prepare us for the fall harvest. And, you will visit our garden and plant your own seeds to take home and watch grow.
Enjoy a tractor-drawn hayride through the country side as you observe wildflowers, wildlife, the apple orchard and Missouri prairie grass fields. (Prairie grass can get as tall as four feet by mid-summer!).
Visit our new observation Bee Hive (optional) and learn why bees dance and how they benefit the farm. Take home a honey straw, too.
This activity adds approximately 15-20 minutes to the tour.
Cost:
$5.00 per person for basic tour
$1.00 more for bee activity
No charge for kids under two or for staff members
